Summer is approaching and we are already dreaming of sun and sunbathing. However, excessive exposure to UV rays can be very harmful.
The sun comes back over the days and, despite the few clouds, we feel it warm our skin. Nice, isn’t it? Yes, except that the UV rays of the sun are far from friendly to our health. It is essential to protect against sunburn, premature aging and the majority of skin cancers. For this, we apply regularly a sunscreen as soon as one exposes oneself. Otherwise, opt for sunscreen. Follow us, we tell you everything!
Why are the sun’s rays dangerous?
There are two types of UV. UVAs first penetrate the epidermis and cause blemishes, wrinkles and skin aging. UVBs then penetrate a little deeper into the skin but are still responsible for sunburn and the majority of skin cancers. Nearly 90% of melanomas are related to overexposure to the sun. It is therefore essential to protect oneself and one’s loved ones.
Unfortunately, this is not necessarily the easiest thing for young people, who are also the most sensitive. So for optimal and guaranteed protection, more and more parents are turning to anti-UV clothing. A rather clever idea that can be adapted to the whole family.
What anti-UV clothing to adopt to protect yourself?
While a cotton t-shirt only has a UPF of 5 to 8 on average (ultraviolet protection factor) and can therefore allow bad rays to pass through the fabric, UV-resistant clothing is capable of to filter and block UVA and UVB from the sun. Made of textiles that comply with European sun protection standards, the latter have a guaranteed effectiveness. Until some time, of course, since it is best to renew it when the fabric is too old or stretched.
Anti-UV clothing: an ideal protection for everyone
Children, until the end of puberty, have thinner and therefore more fragile skin in the face of ultraviolet radiation. But they are not the only ones who need to protect themselves from UV rays. Light skin is also prone to sunburn and tans very little. And if we all have in mind the neon blue jumpsuit for young toddlers, there are also UPF clothes that look like any other.
