Many social media posts mistakenly link the recent outbreak of smallpox cases to the use of the Astra Zeneca vaccine against Covid-19.

With recent cases of smallpox, smallpox and conspiracy theories known during the Covid-19 epidemic are reactivating. Several accounts suggest that the use of the Covid-19 vaccine developed by the Astra Zeneca group may be the cause of recent monkeypox infections.

Why? Because it contains a chimpanzee adenovirus. But as scientists unanimously explain, the latter is not in the same shape as the one responsible for the monkey’s smallpox. On the other hand, the one contained in the vaccine has been genetically modified and attenuated so that it is not transmissible to humans.

Also on the program are those publications that claim the “The Simpsons” series predicted the monkeypox outbreak, supporting cartoon footage. These are authentic excerpts but falsely associated with each other.
