The British Public Prosecutor’s Office on Thursday announced legal proceedings against the actor for “four counts of sexual assault against three men”, from March 2005 to April 2013.

US actor Kevin Spacey announced on Tuesday (May 31st) that he intends to appear in court in the United Kingdom to defend himself after being charged in that country with four counts of sexual assault. The British Public Prosecutor’s Office announced on Thursday that it had “Criminal charges against Kevin Spacey, 62, for four counts of sexual assault against three men”from March 2005 to April 2013, when he was Artistic Director of the Old Vic Theater in London.
“Although I am disappointed with this decision, I will voluntarily appear in the UK as soon as it can be organized and I will defend myself against these allegations and I am sure I will prove my innocence.”said the actor in a statement broadcast on the morning show of the American channel ABC, “Good Morning America”.
The allegations were made in the wake of theHarvey Weinstein case. The Old Vic Theater had commissioned an internal investigation, conducted by a law firm, into the behavior of its former artistic director. In total, “20 personal testimonials about alleged inappropriate behavior by Kevin Spacey” had been collected.
The actor has also been prosecuted in the United States, but they were abandoned. This wave of accusations has had serious consequences for the American actor’s career and reputation.
