An Error Has Occurred in the Script On This Page pop-up window can appear on a Windows 7, 8 or 10 computer for various reasons, from apps running in the background, to an unregistered urlmon.dll “ to deactivated JavaScript.

You should be able to fix this error using one of the following methods depending on the reason behind this script error on your computer.

1. Register the urlmon.dll file

The urlmon.dll file is used by Dynamic Link Library (DLL) files, which are required for the proper working of many Windows programs you have installed on your computer.

Right click on the beginning click and click To run. In the Run Command window, type Regsvr32 urlmon.dll and click OK.

If the process is successful, you will see a confirmation that says “DllRegisterServer urmon.dll succeeded”.

2. Close background apps

Apps like Skype, OneDrive, and others are known to run in the background and can interfere with other programs.

Therefore, sign out of Skype, OneDrive and other active programs that are not currently used on your computer.

Right click on the beginning press and select task manager. From the Task Manager screen, select the processes tab > right click on the program or process you want to close and click on it end task.

Now try to open Microsoft Teams or the program that was throwing script error notifications on your computer.

3. Disable Startup Items

Right click on the Start button and select task manager in the WinX menu.

Start anew the computer > open Microsoft Teams and sign in.

4. Enable JavaScript

Although JavaScript is associated with many security issues, it is widely used and required for the proper functioning of websites and many programs installed on your computer.

Therefore, make sure that the option to use JavaScript is enabled in the web browser you are using on your computer.

Note: In rare cases, the problem can be caused by the JavaScript installation on your computer being corrupted or corrupted.

5. Disable third-party browser extensions

Type internet options in the search bar and click internet options (Switchboard).

7. Hide script errors

Type internet options in the search bar and click internet options (Switchboard).

From the Internet Properties screen, select Progressive Tab > scroll down to the Browsing section and uncheck the box Display a notification of every script error Possibility.

Also uncheck Disable script debugging (Internet Explorer), uncheck Disable script debugging (others) and click Apply.
