Marc Jeanson, botanist, director of the Jardin Majorelle in Marrakech and former head of the national herbarium at the Musée d’Hitoire Naturelle in Paris, imagined the exhibition “Végétal, l’école de la beauté” as a herbarium.
This curator participates in the new vocation of the 21st century botanist: to help change the public’s view of the living world.
After listing all the plant species represented in the Chaumet creations for 240 years, the botanist has divided them into seven “landscape-universes”: the cave, the forest, the foreshore, the reedbed, the ager and the hortus, the mille-fleur. 400 works of art borrowed from major international museums illustrate these universes and the close connection that has united human creation and the plant world since the earliest civilizations.
This exhibition also reflects the commitment of a large jewelry house to sustainable development and the arts. The exhibition has been eco-designed taking into account the carbon footprint of all its aspects and focusing on life cycle analysis, reuse, recycling and energy recovery of all its elements. Chaumet also sponsored the restoration of several works featured in the exhibition. TUESDAY, JUNE 14, 2022 from 10 a.m. to noon
