After three straight defeats, Newcastle got a very valuable win on Friday in the opening the 32nd day of the Premier League in its den at Saint James Park. The Magpies had Wolverhampton (1-0) thanks to a penalty from their striker Chris Wood (72nd). His second goal of the season with the club he joined during the Winter Market.
That win allowed Eddie Howe’s men to take a tenth point lead over Burnley and the red zone. It should be noted that the former Lyonnais Bruno Guimaraes started the match as a starter and played 88 minutes, before being replaced by Sean Longstaff. The Wolves remain 8th in the Premier League.
