Transfer Contacts from iPhone to iPhone
There are various methods to transfer contacts from iPhone to iPhone, from simple SIM card transfer to using iCloud and iTunes to transfer data (including contacts) from old iPhone to new.
You can use any of the following methods which are applicable or suitable in your own case.
1. Transfer contacts to new iPhone using iCloud
If you haven’t set up your new iPhone yet, you can easily transfer all your photos, data, contacts, and other data using iCloud.
Note: This method only works if you use the same Apple ID on both devices.
Go to on your old iPhone settings and tap yours AppleID.
On the next screen navigate to iCloud > iCloud backup and tap Secure now Possibility.
Wait patiently for the backup process to complete. After the backup is complete, remove the SIM card from the old iPhone and insert the SIM card New iPhone.
Press the power button on their New iPhone and you will find it starting with the “Hello” screen.
Follow the on-screen instructions until you “applications and data” screen. Select on this screen Restore from iCloud backup Possibility.
If prompted, enter your Apple ID and password to sign in to iCloud > Select the on the next screen iCloud backup that you just did.
Wait for the restore process to complete and follow the remaining on-screen instructions to complete the setup process.
2. Transfer Contacts from iPhone to iPhone with iCloud Sync
If you’ve already set up and are using your new iPhone, you can use iCloud Sync to transfer contacts from old iPhone to new without resetting your device.
Make sure both your old and new iPhone are connected to the same Wi-Fi network and you are signed in to both iPhones with the same Apple ID.
You can confirm this by going to settings and make sure you can see the same AppleID and WiFi network name On both iPhones.
Go to on your old iPhone settings > AppleID > iCloud and move them contacts switch to ON Position.
Note: If your old iPhone uses iOS 9 or earlier, go to settings > iCloud > Move the switch next to contacts to ON Position.
You should now see a pop-up asking What would you like to do with your existing local contacts? – Choose merge Possibility.
Go to on your new iPhone settings > AppleID > iCloud and move them contacts switch to ON Position.
After that, open the Contacts app on your and you should be able to see all the contacts from your previous device.
3. AirDrop contacts from old to new iPhone
If you have few contacts, you can easily transfer them from iPhone to iPhone via AirDrop.
Go to on both iPhones settings > General > air drop > select All Possibility.
After that open Contacts app On your old iPhone, choose the Contact you want to AirDrop and tap on it share contact Possibility.
From the Share menu that appears, choose the AirDrop Possibility.
You should now see an AirDrop transfer request on your new iPhone. Accept the request and the contact will be transferred to your new iPhone.
You’ll need to repeat the above steps for other contacts because you can only transfer one contact at a time with AirDrop.
4. Import contacts from SIM card to new iPhone
You can use this method if you know that some of the contacts on your old iPhone are stored on the SIM card.
remove that SIM card from your old iPhone and insert it into the new iPhone. After that go to settings > contacts and tap Import SIM card contacts Possibility.
Within a few seconds, the contacts will be transferred from the SIM card to your new iPhone.
5. Transfer Contacts from iPhone to iPhone on Mac
If you are using a MacBook, iMac or Mac Mini, you can easily transfer contacts from iPhone to iPhone using Finder.
Plug in your old one iPhone to MacBook Use the included cable and click yours iPhone as it appears in the side menu.
On the next screen, select the summary tab in the side menu. In the right pane, scroll down to the Backups section and select it This computer option and click Secure now Button.
Wait patiently for the backup process to complete. After the backup process is complete, remove the SIM card Old iPhone and insert the SIM card New iPhone.
Press the power button on New iPhone and you will find it starting with the “Hello” screen.
Follow the onscreen instructions until you reach the Apps & Data screen. Make your selection on this screen Recover from iTunes backup Possibility.
Now plug New iPhone to MacBook and select yours iPhone in the side menu.
On the next screen, select the summary tab in the left pane. In the right pane, click Restore Backup Button option located in the Manual Backup and Restore section.
In the pop-up window, select the iTunes backup located on your computer and click on the Restore Button.
Wait patiently for the restoring process to complete and follow the remaining on-screen instructions to complete the setup process of your new iPhone.
Once the process is complete, all the contacts from the old iPhone will be available to you on your new device.
