How to fix printer offline error in Windows 10

Sometimes the printer can appear offline even if it is turned on and properly connected to the computer. Below are the steps to fix printer offline error in Windows 10.

1. Restart printer and computer

2. Troubleshoot the printer

The built-in troubleshooter in Windows 10 can be trusted to find and fix printing problems on your computer.

3. Restart the print spooler service

Follow the steps below to restart the print spooler service and make sure it is set to start automatically.

1. Right click on the beginning click and click To run.

2. In the command window, type run services.msc and click OK.

5. Set as default printer

Setting your printer as the default printer on your computer can help troubleshoot printing issues.

1. Go to settings > Devices.

2. Click on Printers & Scanners in the left pane. In the right pane, select yours Printer and click open queue Possibility.

6. Remove and add printers

If the above methods didn’t help, follow the steps below to first remove the printer from your computer and add it back.

1. Go to settings > Devices.

2. On the next screen, click Printers & Scanners in the left pane. In the right pane, select yours Printer and click Remove device Button.

5. Once the printer is recognized by Windows 10, select the Printer and click add device Button.

You should now see that the printer is online and you should be able to print without clicking “Printer is offline” Error message.
