How to download Windows 10 ISO file directly

You can either create a Windows Disk Image using the Media Creation Tool or download the Windows 10 ISO file or Disk Image directly to the USB drive.

When you visit Microsoft’s official download website from a Windows computer, the option to download Windows 10 ISO file does not appear.

Instead, you’ll see the option to download Windows Media Creation Tool, which allows you to create a Windows 10 ISO file or disk image on a USB drive.

However, if you visit Microsoft’s download page with a MacBook or Chromebook, you will see the option to download the Windows 10 ISO file directly to the USB drive.

If you are interested, you can download the Windows 10 ISO file directly from a Windows computer to a USB drive by changing the user agent for the web browser on your computer (see last method below).

1. Create a Windows 10 ISO file using Media Creation Tool

In this method, you must first download the Media Creation Tool on your computer and use the tool to create a Windows 10 ISO file on a USB drive.

1. Open any web browsers on your computer and visit ISO download from Microsoft Side? site.

2. Scroll down to the Create Windows 10 installation media section and click Download tool now Button.

3. On the next screen, select Download location for Media Creation Tool on your computer and click Save on computer.

4. Next, double click on the downloaded one MediaCreationTool.exe File.

5. Click on Accept to agree to the Microsoft Terms of Service.

6. Select on the next screen Create installation media for another PC option and click Next.

7. Windows should automatically select the language, edition, and architecture required for your computer. Click on Next to go to the next screen.

Note: You can change language and architecture by unchecking Use recommended options for this PC box.

8th. Select on the next screen USB stick option and click Next.

9. On the next screen, select yours USB memory drive and click the Next Button.

Note: Click on Update drive list Link if the USB flash drive does not appear on this screen.

10 Wait patiently while the Windows Media Creation Tool creates a Windows Disk Image on the connected USB drive.

2. Download the Windows 10 ISO file to the USB drive

The easiest way to download the Windows 10 ISO file directly to the USB drive is to visit Microsoft’s download site on a MacBook or Chromebook.

1. Open the web browser on your MacBook or Chromebook and visit ISO download from Microsoft Side? site.

2. Once you are on Microsoft’s download site, select the edition of Windows 10 that you want to download and click on it Confirm.

3. Choose language and click Confirm.

4. Select on the next screen 32-bit download or 64-bit download as required for your computer.

5. If prompted, select USB drive as download location and click Save on computer.

Note: The browser user-agent returns to normal as soon as you close and restart the web browser.

3. Download the Windows 10 ISO file to a USB drive on a Windows computer

If you don’t have a MacBook or Chromebook, you can still download the ISO file directly to the USB drive by switching the web browser on your computer to a non-Windows user agent.

1. Open Google chrome web browser on your computer and visit ISO download from Microsoft Side? site.

2. Click 3 dots menu icon > move mouse over it More tools and click developer tools.

3. On the developer screen, click the menu icon > move mouse over it More tools and click network conditions.

4. On the Network Conditions screen, clear the check box Select Automatic option and click the down arrow next to Custom.

5. Select from the menu that appears Chrome – Mac as a user agent and do not close the developer window.

Note: You can choose any non-Windows user agent.

6. After selecting User Agent, refresh the download page (don’t close developer tools) and you will see the option to download the ISO file.

7. Choose edition of Windows that you want to download and click on it Confirm.

8th. Choose language and click Confirm.

9. On the next screen, choose one of the two 32-bit download or 64-bit download to start the download.

Note: You may be able to upgrade from 32-bit to 64-bit Windows 10

10 If prompted, select USB drive as the download destination and click Save on computer.
