FC Barcelona met with super agent Jorge Mendes last night in Ciudad Condal and they did not miss a topic of discussion.
Among them was Nico Gonzalez, but Mendes has always had close ties to Valencia since the arrival of Peter Lim in 2014. So it was not surprising that Carlos Soler’s name is also on the table.
According to Mundo Deportivo, FC Barcelona did not hesitate to respond to Mendes. The Catalans do not have the means to bring him to the club and are not interested in doing so either.
Not to be missed
Soler is expected to leave Valencia this summer as the club seeks to balance its costs, but if there is one position where Barcelona is well covered, it is the central midfielder.
The report also states that even if Frenkie de Jong were to leave, Soler would not be an option. Xavi Hernandez only wants to sign a replacement if he is at the same level as de Jong, which makes sense given that Gavi is next in line for the position.
