Within a few decades, Annecy became the world capital for cinema and animated films.
The world’s largest animation festival opens next Monday in Annecy in the French Alps. A competition, with the best films of the year, but also a film market, where all the major American studios and streaming platforms are present as well as countries from all continents.
We received on the euronews set the director of the festival, Michaël Marin:
The opening on Monday, June 13, is the world premiere of Minions 2: Once Upon a Time Gru, a co-production between the United States, Japan and France, which returns to the youth of the super villain, Gru.
Annecy is the effervescence for a week, with a festival that brings together both animation stars and drawing school students. A booming sector.
Both professionals and the public find their way there, with an avalanche of films and meetings around animation for a week.
The Swiss animation is the guest of honor at the 2022 edition, which runs until 18 June.
