On the first day of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, Mali crushed Congo (4-0) on Saturday (June 4th). The Eagles, authors of a sumptuous first period, take control of Group G and send a message to the competition.

We didn’t have to be late for the March 26 stadium in Bamako, where Mali’s first match in Group G of the next qualifiers took place. CAN 2023. On June 4 in the Malian capital, the Congolese quickly realized that they were going to have a bad time.

The correction started in the 38th second with Mohamed Camara opening the scoring. At the entrance of the surface, the Salzburg striker fired a heavy uncontrolled strike that left the Congolese goalkeeper Pantois (1st).

El Bilal Touré sees double

It was then the young El Bilal Touré who scored the goal of the break. He took advantage of the splendid overflow of Yves Bissouma in the surface on the right side and the impeccable service of his teammate to double the bet (11th). The same Touré, after finding the post in the quarter of an hour of play, punished the Congo once again: Rayan Bidounga lost the ball full axis, and El Bilal Touré, after a control, brought the score to 3 -0 thanks to another huge hit (39th). And just before the break, a new Bissouma cross found Kalifa Coulibaly (44th) victorious.

With this unappealable score in the first act, Mali had little to fear. When the locker rooms returned, Congo-Brazzaville did not really show enough resources to hope for a return to hell. The Red Devils did not frame a single shot of the entire match.

So an excellent operation for the Malian Eagles, at the top of Group G after this brilliant victory without appeal. They are leading this group before the second day, during which they will face South Sudan, beaten on the first day by Gambia (1-0). The match will take place in Uganda on June 9, while Congo will play Gambia the day before in Brazzaville.
