A 9-year-old girl survives a rare puma attack

The attacks of puma are extremely rare. A 9-year-old girl who was camping in the northwestern state of Washington United Stateswas attacked by one of these cats, said her uncle who threw a jackpot online.

The attack took place on Saturday morning as Lily was “camping with her family” in the eastern part of the state, her uncle Alex Mantsevich wrote on the GoFundMe crowdfunding site.

Numerous operations and coma

“She was airlifted to hospital with multiple injuries to her upper body and face,” she underwent numerous surgeries and was released from a coma on Monday, “well aware of what happened to her.”

Her uncle’s call for financial help, for the cost of health in particular, is accompanied by photos of the girl on her hospital bed, her face constellated with wide sores resembling severe scratches. Since 1924, only 20 people have been attacked by cougars in this wild and mountainous state, and two have died, according to the Washington State Conservation Agency.

“Standing Up and Giving Back”

One of her spokesmen told a local TV channel that they were conducting an investigation to better understand the circumstances of the attack, and that the animal’s body, shot by a person present at the scene, would be analyzed, in particular to detect possible diseases.

Puma attacks, a powerful one feline also known as cougar and present on the American continent, are extremely rare, but the authorities recommend, if this happens, to do everything possible to to kill.
